We have been receiving a large amount of calls for ants Cork and other area’s about ants.

The first four months of this year have been unusually high and as a result the arrival of summer will probably mean a larger-than-usual presence of ants in your home/business.

To minimise the effect of ants in your home you will find a few tips below.

Clean up any food spills or liquid mess immediately
Check behind fridges, ovens, cupboards (you will be surprised what you will find) and clean any food debris.
Fix any leaks and control moisture levels
Check for entry points and seal them to stop the ants coming in. these include around pipes, drains, windows, etc.
Clean out bins regularly cleaned and keep them sealed

Back in February we talk about the ant call that were coming into the helpdesk here in the office and how it was very early for this to happen, well there has been no sign of the ants going away. The calls are still coming, this is going to be a busy year for ants so be ready.

Use caulk …. Seal windows, doors and any cracks you can find, Ants are tiny and they can find their way into your home using the smallest of holes. Most common is gaps around the back sliding doors.

We have started to get call’s for ants already this year, the weather is changing and they are now becoming active. People are finding them in their kitchens behind the fridge under the counters etc, they can be a real nuisance. The best way to get ride of ants is to kill off the nest, this can be done with a spray treatment. This is a quick and easy way to leave your home/business ant free.
